We do not operate as a single service company. We operate as a system.

The roots are in Los Cabos. The Coveted Group built and ran the real estate arm of Flora Farms from 2011 to 2025, one of the most recognized developments in Baja. That work is the foundation everything since has been built on.
Before that, Derrick Grahn was developing in Chicago in the early 1990s, in Wicker Park, while the neighbourhood was still overlooked. He had gone to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on a full scholarship for sculpture, and spent the decade producing the city’s underground art and rave scene as much as its buildings. The artist did not become a developer. The artist stayed, and builds.
Los Cabos came next. Restaurants. Cabo Social, launched and sold in 2011. Santo Cabo and Outpost Cabo, co-founded in 2017 with Anastasia Grahn. Fourteen years running real estate at Flora Farms.
The Scottsdale office is the newest piece, not the beginning of the story.

Two generations back
Vertical integration is the family trade.
Derrick’s grandfather, Nelson Meilahn, founded The Oaks Farm Dairy in rural Wisconsin: the area’s first vertically integrated dairy operation. Herd, plant, bottling, trucks, route. Every phase, one farm.
His mother was born on that land. In 2024 the firm acquired the final 120 acres of Meilahn Farms, and the restored 1950s dairy quonset will host its events.
A firm that holds acquisition, design, permitting, construction, capital and sale under one roof is not following a private equity playbook. It is doing what the family has always done, at a different scale.

Most projects are assembled from separate companies who meet for the first time on site. Every seam between them is a delay someone else pays for.
